I asked my husband the other day, "Honey, do you think its weird that your wife is completely tuckered out at 9 pm and goes to bed?" His response, "Yes, I think its weird." So I laughed and in my head decided I should try to make an effort to stay up later...So last night, after Biggest Loser, when T-Dad said, "Let's watch W. , we just got it from Netflix." I said, "Sure, sounds good."
Flash forward to this morning...
Early Bird wakes up early for a feeding. T-Dad's alarm goes off at some ungodly, still dark outside hour, baby starts crying. Finally baby is back to sleep in my bed, how can such a little baby take up sooooo much space in a queen size bed. I manage to nod off for another half an hour, hitting snooze twice and then completely turning the alarm off. Only to wake 10 minutes before I need to get all three kids out the door to get everyone to school on time! Aaargh!
Bug was late to school for the first time today. He had to go in to the office and get a pass and everything. Poor kid.
Moral of the story: Staying up late when you're tired, gets tomorrow off to a bad start.

Xander has had a terrible time going to bed for the last couple of months. Just this week he's started to go to bed on time. But there are days when he's up until 10:30 p.m. when I just want to cry because I'm so tired.
And even when he does go to sleep early, I can -- maybe -- last through on TV episode before I'm ready to pass out. Now if I could stay asleep all night -- I'd be thankful for that.
So, yeah, Mom should go to sleep whenever she needs to.
Not only does this Mommy still go to bed when I know I need to, but we also moved up to the King size bed when our peanut-sized daughter still crept into our bed after a bad dream, storm, etc.
Did you know that even a king size bed can get crowded?
My goal is to be in bed by 9 every night. Then I read until 10 (or until the book falling off the bed into the trash can wakes me up, usually 9:15 or so LOL) and then it's lights out. 6 am is painfully early and while I can function well for long periods of time on less than 6 hours of sleep, I like the world around me more when I sleep longer.
I like Moral #2... In fact, I like any phrase that includes the words 'Mommy' and 'any time she wants to.'
Am I spoiled?
;D
Thanks for coming by Midwest Moms, and it was lovely to meet you on Wed. (BTW, the taste in that cupcake was -gasp- balsamic vinegar! I never would've guessed that!)

For some reason, I feel the need to confess...Bug received a "tardy pass" no less than a dozen times last year...this one day was only the beginning. But you know what...I'm over it, he was never bothered by it and hell, it was only Kindergarten, anyway. Now, next year...
