Crying baby and a smile

What's been going on with Early Bird...

Colic. She cries all the time in the evening. She screams bloody murder and tightens every little muscle in her small body, fighting the pain in her tummy. She looks at me with this pissed off scowl and screams in high-pitched newborn caterwauling, with every ounce she's got -

What the &@%$ is going on! I'm in pain, something hurts. Why? WTF, mama?

On a good note...she naps alot during the day. AND...

The other day, she smiled at me. Such a precious reward.

I remember feeling absolutely batshit crazy when X-man was around her age. I was so shocked by the first smile that it almost knocked me over. Progress...

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys on Thursday morning!

Poor mama and baby.

I remember those days not so fondly.

I hope she gets past it real soon.

Remember, I am available for baby holding emergencies between the hours of 9am and 7pm. I'll get you one of my business cards. =)

Happiest Baby on the Block. I swear by it. Check it out from the library. There is a DVD too. Totally works. It's a quick read.

Dr. Karp says that most babies who are labeled as having colic actually don't.

They need a fourth trimester and there are 5 S's that are employed.

Saved my sanity, that's for sure.

Good luck! Hope it passes quickly. I know it can be frustrating.

Oh, the reason I say to try his method is that babies with colic are like that all the time. Babies who just need help, cry in the evening. That's what mine did and several people I know who also used his methods. If she's napping during the day, she just may need this extra help to get settled and secure in the evening.

I completely forgot about HBOTB! It worked wonders for Bubba (not so much for PG, but she ended up having reflux)...it was the book that suggested having the baby sleep next to the bed in a swing. We ended up doing that for both of them for the first 4(ish) months.

I probably still have the book somewhere...I'll look for it for you!
